If you are applying for an extended permit or citizenship or renewing your residence permit card or residence card, it is possible that you do not need to visit a service point to prove your identity. For more information about when visiting a service point is not necessary, see the page Identification.
Renewal of card
You need to submit separate applications if you are applying for a new card for yourself and for your child.
You can also apply for a new card for your child who is under 18 years of age. If you use strong identification in Enter Finland, your child may avoid the need to visit a service point.
If you are applying for a card both for yourself and for your child who has not turned 18, follow these instructions:
- Fill in and submit your own application in Enter Finland.
- Fill in and submit your child’s application in Enter Finland.
- Book an appointment for proving your identity at a service point of the Finnish Immigration Service for yourself and your child in our appointment system. Remember to select “For a family” in the appointment system. You can find instructions on how to book an appointment on the website of the Finnish Immigration Service.
Apply for a card renewal for yourself.
